We are really excited to announce that The Bookshop Band will be performing live at October Books with their EMERGE, RETURN tour on Wednesday 24th July!!
On Saturday 8th June, 11am - 12.30pm, join Lucy Parr Cordon Bleu trained cook who creates plant-based and allergy-friendly recipes, specifically avoiding milk, eggs, nuts and sesame seeds. Lucy has over 800 recipes on her website Lucy’s Friendly Foods and her book The Friendly Baker has recently been published.
Lynne Thompson, the fourth Poet Laureate for the City of Los Angeles, brings forth a poignant reflection on women's lives in her latest book, "Blue on a Blue Palette."
You may have noticed that we have been running a series of ‘We can learn to…’ workshops this year. This is in response to listening customers and those attending events. The purposes are to learn new skills from people in our community, have new experiences and meet with others. The workshops are also in a response to us living in times when so much is made for us and is mass produced. We do n’t really need to make anything, perhaps a cake or two sometimes.
