We Can Learn...free form stitching

See where your stitches can take you as we learn to transform fabric and thread into decorations to be proud of!

Join Kate Aspinall, a textiles enthusiast and fibreholic, on Saturday 13th April 11am - 12.30pm, for this free form stitching workshop using simple sewing stitches to decorate fabric by creating patterns and texture.

‘After a brief introduction to the ideas behind free form stitching, we will work some practice pieces to get our hands used to the stitching movements. Then we will put those skills to use making decorations. You’ll get enough fabric for two different items, and we’ll work on decorating one of them in the class. Then hopefully you’ll be inspired to carry on making once you get your goodies home!’.

Fabric, threads and tools will be provided, but please feel free to bring any special embroidery-type threads that you might want to include e.g. your favourite colours or sparkly stuff! You are also welcome to bring your own scissors, needles suitable for embroidery, a needle threader and a small crochet hook to help tying knots (2-3mm) if you have one - but none of this is crucial!

No previous experience of embroidery or hand-sewing is required for this workshop.

Tickets £6.50, to book your place please visit Lemon Booking or contact the shop for more details.

The cost of the ticket goes towards helping support your local independent bookshop and community space and means we can continue to run events like this.
