Come along to our Members meeting

Come along to our Members meeting

Join us via Zoom at 7pm on Tuesday 27th April at our members meeting to find out more about how we are doing as we emerge from lockdown, our plans for the future and what you might be able to do to help. We aim to make the meetings fun and engaging and to allow space for you to let us know your thoughts and ideas. They are your opportunity to get involved in the running of your community bookshop and community space.

We hold the meetings every quarter and we are opening them up to anyone who wants to be involved. Next week we will be talking about the last few months in the shop, our highs and lows and how we are doing financially. We’ll then let you know about our longer term plans to convert to a Community Benefit Society and our plan to make this happen and how you can get involved. Next on the agenda is a conversation about our outside space, what you would like to see happen with it and how it could grow into a little oasis for staff, volunteers and our community. We’ll also let you know what is happening with the community space as we slowly open back up for events and hires and let you know how you can get involved in shaping what happens in the space. A final wrap up with details of events coming up and we’ll be finished by 8.30pm

Please book your place on Eventbrite here and do drop us a line if you have any questions or suggestions if you can’t make it along.

Warmest regards

The October Books team

We are open:

Monday - Saturday

10am - 4pm

We are back open six days a week, with the whole store open for browsing. We will still of course be taking customer orders and you will still be able to buy food and cleaning products online through our online store.

We are able to be open 6 days a week again because of your consideration and care whilst in the shop. Keep doing what you’re doing and leave that extra space, sanitise those hands and pull on that mask. We know you’re smiling underneath it :)

You will see we have a QR code at the door, if you have the NHS COVID-19 app downloaded to your smart phone please scan this as you enter the shop.
