Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring festival, starts on Saturday 10th February and marks the transition between Chinese signs of the zodiac. 2024 is the year of the Dragon, mythical creatures of Chinese folklore and one of the 12 animals in the zodiac.

The new year celebrations are enjoyed by families and friends, and is one of the most important holidays across Chinese communities.

Chinese New Year celebrations will be taking place in Southampton on Saturday 10th February with fantastic dragon and lion dances, various Chinese cultural performances and a festive atmosphere. Marking the end of the spring festival is the Lantern Festival on Saturday 24th February.
