Volunteer Ethical products Coordinator

Do you love vegetarian and vegan food? Do you know your fair trade from factory farmed and want to promote more ethical products in the high street? If this sounds like your passion and you have experience in retail and 4 or 5 hours a week to spare then drop us a line. We are looking for a volunteer to co-ordinate our food and cleaning products ranges, from stock rotation to ordering, displays and promotions to food related events. Full training will be given and we request a minimum of 3 months volunteer placement.

The placement is based in October Books, a vibrant, independent, community bookshop based in Portswood. In addition to books, we also sell a wide range of fair trade, organic, vegetarian and vegan and gluten free foods and a range of personal hygiene products including shampoos, soaps and conditioners and a wide range of low impact home cleaning products. We aim to sell products with minimal or degradable packaging and to source local products where possible. We currently sell Hampshire made beeswax wraps, chocolates, hand creams and bamboo toothbrushes and KeepCups and would like to expand this locally sourced range. All volunteers will need to adhere to our Radical Ethos and Code of Conduct.
